How to Find a best hair transplant doctor

In America alone the field of Hair Restoration is completely unregulated by both the government and the medical community. Licensed physicians can legally preform hair transplant surgery without any prior surgical training of any kind. Therefore a physician, MD or DO can proclaim him/herself a qualified hair restoration physician. Therefore do not underestimate the task of finding a qualified hair transplant surgeon if you need a transplant done.

You don’t need to trust a big facility to find the best doctors. If you have a doctor that you have researched, is his/her hair transplant practice dedicated solely to surgical hair restoration? If not, what percentage of his/her practice is?

Now that you understand what to avoid let’s discuss what to look for when researching for a hair transplant surgeon.

Provide complete detail:
Can the surgeon provide you with a minimum 10 sets of before and after photos, same angle, same lighting. A clear view of the hairline, mid anterior (the top between hairline and crown) ask for photos of the scalp after the hair-bearing tissue strips have been removed for the transplantation.  If your doctor fails to provide you with pictures. Then he might not be the best doctor for you.

Meet with his/her patients:
Ask to meet up with patients that have similar hair and skin characteristics as you. It is  important to view patients with these similar characteristics in order to assess your hair transplantation physician's ability to provide you with a realistic and beneficial outcome  Ask for the names and phone numbers of patients that you can contact to discuss their experiences with the hair transplant physician and staff that you are considering. If possible, ask to speak with two other experienced Doctors who have had the procedure performed by the hair transplant doctor you are researching.

Transplant Group:
If the hair transplant doctor or hair transplant group you are considering claims to performing follicular unit hair loss restoration, ask questions about the grafts, stereo-microscopes used during a procedure, if a single blade knife is used to excise the donor strip?

Check complaints:
You also need to check if there have been any medical complaints against the person. You can check this by his office or by board.

Make sure that you Hair Transplant Procedure are performed by your concerned doctor, if any other physician is willing to do that leave immediately.
