Know about the Cost of Dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers, also called as injectable fillers, are a revolution in the field of cosmetics and rejuvenation. This is a non-surgical intervention in which a person can easily augment his looks without coming under a surgeon’s knife. However, with convenience comes a price which one has to pay and one should know about this aspect before opting for the procedure.

ORIGIN:

There are different types of material used as fillers treatment which can be obtained from cadavers, other animals or can also be synthesized in a laboratory. The price of the organic material is way much higher than the artificial ones as they are associated with lesser side effects than the latter.

MATERIALS USED

There is a wide range of materials which are used as dermal fillers can be found easily in the market under different brand names. The most appropriate one is selected and it is then injected on different sites of the skin under consideration. These include:
  •          Collagen
  •          Hyaluronic acid
  •          Fat
  •          Polycaprolactone
  •          Polymethylmethacrylate
  •         Calcium hydroxylapatite
  •          Polylactic acid

PRICE VARIATION:

The material to be used as filler depends on customer’s choice and expert’s opinion. It is also influenced by the price and level of expertise required. The only material which can’t be synthesized artificially out of the lot, fat, is the most expensive of the material as it is limited in supply. Polymethylmethacrylate and polylactic acid compounds provide long lasting effects and hence are expensive than the rest which fall in the category of average to short term duration. Human based collagen is, however expensive as compared to that originated from other animals.

EXPERT CENTERS

The procedure for application of fillers treatment is simple yet it requires a high level of expertise to avoid potential side effects. In United States, dermal fillers treatment are considered medical devices and only registered dermatologists can perform the procedure in specialist centers. These centers are well equipped to deal with any harmful side effect which occurs during or after the procedure. As a result, customers experience much safe procedure and recovery period. However, this is linked with a much higher fee and any cosmetic procedure which is not optional is usually not covered by the insurance. This should be kept in mind before opting for dermal fillers treatment.

On the other hand in Europe, dermal fillers can be injected by any medical as well as non-medical person who has a registered certificate of the training of procedure. Hence, the procedure can be much cheaper but with less expertise.
